Robert Wesley SnyderPhD
Director of Translational Science
I’m a co-founder of MedBioSci and a translational scientist with a background in genomics, bioinformatics, and biomarker strategy. My work connects laboratory methods and computational analysis with the questions that guide drug development and clinical research.
At Precision for Medicine, I served as Associate Director of Genomics and Scientific Liaison, working with biotechnology and pharmaceutical teams on biomarker programs from preclinical studies through Phase III trials. Previously, at Personal Genome Diagnostics, I developed methods for analyzing tumor sequencing data and led validation studies for a blood-based genomic assay.
My experience spans sequencing, single-cell and spatial biology, and the integration of molecular data with tissue imaging. I also develop biomedical AI tools, with an emphasis on making analyses useful, inspectable, and grounded in the underlying evidence.
I earned my PhD in Biomedical Engineering through the joint program at UNC Chapel Hill and NC State University, and my BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of Maryland.
